This 16.5 acre boulder field was formed during the latest glacier period which occurred around 20,000 years ago.  As the glacier receded the boulders which were being pushed along were left behind.

Boulder field is located in the beautiful Hickory Run State park in Carbon County, Pennsylvania.  This unique geological landscape is considered a National Natural Landmark.
